Xolile Duncan Makunyane
A qualified artisan, not a man with a welding machine.
There is a real difference between someone who owns a welder and someone who passed a national trade test. It shows up years later, in whether the weld held.
Xolile trained through Signa Artisans in Motion and Armco Superlites, then passed his national trade test in October 2023 — qualifying as a Welder under the QCTO, trade code 651202.
He then went to Steinmuller Africa, one of South Africa's leading boiler and power-station engineering companies, welding boiler and structural steel in one of the most safety-critical environments in the country. Every weld there is inspected against ANSI and AWS standards. You do not get to be approximately right.
In 2026 he came home to Sekhukhune to do the same work for local homes, farms, schools and businesses — because the standard that keeps a power station safe is more than good enough for a driveway gate.
